The territorial organization of the scientific-technical unions – Pernik (TO of NTS) is a non-government, non-political, creative professional non-profit organization, registered as an independent juridical organization in 1992 and reregistered in 2001 according to the Law of non-profit juridical organizations.

The main targets of the Federation are as follows:

   To defend the interests of its members before state and local authorities and professional-creative and social associations both in the country and abroad;

   To affirm the association as an important structure of the civil society, to enhance the social influence and reputation of Bulgarian engineers, economists, agricultural specialists, technicians, scientists, and inventors in the region of Pernik;

   To strengthen and extent the international contacts and to develop collaboration of mutual benefit with similar organizations both in the country and abroad in the interest of its members;

  TO of NTS is a full member of the Federation of the national scientific-technical unions in Bulgaria (FNTS) which is a co-founder and a member of the World Federation of the Engineering Organizations (WFEO/FMOI), of the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI), Global Compact, European Young Engeneers, the Regional coordination council of the Engineering Associations of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (RCC).
