On the 3 of January 1893 27 architects and engineers founded the first creative professional association of the Bulgarian architects and engineers- BIAD-in Sofia. “Through secret vote ballot and absolutely unanimously” eng. Mihail Momchilov was elected for a chairperson of BIAD, for vice-chairperson – arch. Todor Markov, secretaries-eng. Georgi Botusharov and eng. arch. Georgi Nenov.

  On the 5 of April 1925 Engineering-Architectural Association –Pernik was founded in Mine “Pernik”. It had 35 members, 23 of whom-mine engineers, 4-machine engineers, 4-electroengineers, 1-enginer-constructer, 1-architect. The first management of the Pernik branch of BIAD was as follows: chairperson – eng. G. Koniarov; Executive Director of mine “Pernik”, vice-chairperson- eng. St. Naumov; secretary-cashier – eng. Hr. Ivanov, member correspondent for the Magazine – eng. G. Drenski.

  Association addressed the chairperson of the newly founded branch in this way:

  “We are glad that such an organization has been founded in Mine “Pernik”. The mine is a technical centre with an economic influence over the development of our country and the advance of the technological practice and science in Bulgaria. “Pernik” must become a reason for pride for the organizational and scientific abilities of the Bulgarian technicians.
We assure you, Mr. chairman, that the Association will support you.”

  On the 25 of May 1949 the town organization NTS-Pernik was founded. This was an initiative of the former engineering-architectural associations which summoned a meting of all engineers, architects and technicians.

  In 1963 it was renamed Province Council Of NTS, in 1989 - House of science and technique and in 1992 – Territorial organization of NTS.
